So we have all been told, in the US at least, to dig a hole through the center of the earth and get to China. For me it turns out to be the Indian ocean, off the coast of Australia.
I have no clue why I like knowing things like this.....

Funny, my dad used to say this when he had me dig a hole for a tree, after he'd see how deep I dug, "You digging a hole to China?". Years later I found out the Australian truth. The only oddity that still bugs me up to today is that a Bugs Bunny episode or two showed the same China reference; who's going to argue with that fact?

some fairly old canon camera stuff, canon lenses, Manfrotto "thingy", and an M5, also an M6 that has had a 720nm filter bolted onto the sensor:

Love it. It looks like you need to start in Argentina or Chile to end up in China.

I'm glad I wasn't the only one that wondered. That is pretty neat.

You guys take things too literally, like the yahoos who named Canton, Ohio, did.

Besides, digging a hole through the core might pose a bit of a problem, not to mention the mantle.

Actually... if you're digging through the core, you might very well end up in China. I think around that area you might have magnetic anomalies, and your instruments would probably be totally jacked up. You might even end up at your neighbor's house.

When I was growing up we had these amazing round things called 'globes'. They were really cool, you could see the actual shape of the Earth and everything.

But, I'm old. I even used cameras with film.

You're forgetting that Bugs always made a wrong turn at Albuquerque, which explains why he hit China.

Or Arabia, where he met Sheikh Sam.
