I've searched a little but can't find any examples of indoor sports use. Yes, plenty of everything outdoor sports but not a thing indoors. I found a very few shots of the older 120-300s but they weren't overly impressive. I'm just wondering if anyone has shots with the newest version.

Specifically, I'd really like to see some examples of this lens with volleyball, gymnastics and basketball but anything indoors would be beneficial.

My current equipment for indoor sports includes a 24-70 (v2) and a 70-200 f2.8 IS.
The vast majority of the time these suit my needs just fine. However there are those occasions when I wish I had a little more reach.

To add to that, in the coming weeks I'll be replacing a 1.3x crop with a full frame so I'm going to have even less reach.

Gear: A lot more than I deserve and a lot less than I want!

I know you asked about the sport, but I have the OS version which is the same optics so I thought I would give you an example. I only used it once for indoor sports because it is a little too heavy to hold for an entire game. I don't use a monopod indoors and I feel like I can use a 70-200 better. The lens did fine as far as focus and tracking. Just my .02.
All shots with the 5D3 and the Sigma 120-300 f/2.8 OS

Thanks, those actually look pretty promising.

The lens is a really nice piece of equipment. It's not as fast as a prime but then a prime can't zoom. ;)

I used to have that lens. It is very sharp when the focus actually locks on. How often it locks is another story. I was using it on a 1D IIN at the time.
