I bought an 80-200 f2.8L via eBay, and before I fully accept it I have a question about the AF:On this one the AF is slightly noisy, and it 'clunks' a little. Is this normal for the Magic Drainpipe? It is not objectionably loud, just noticeable. Thanks in advance.Have Fun,

'Clunk' is a relative term - let's just say I can hear it when it stops focusing. I don't have a way to post a .wav file.Have Fun,

It's PROBABLY normal considering that lens doesn't have USM.

Did you lose Digital Photo Professional (DPP)? Get it here (external link). Cursing at your worse-than-a-map reflector? Check out this vid! (external link)

This is my first big EF lens that hasn't had USM, so it was a little unusual. I guess its normal, thanks for the replies.

Have Fun,

During normal focusing ranges, mine has never had what would be considered a 'clunk' but when you hit the edge of the focus range (ie, you're trying to focus on something closer than the minimum focus distance), I can hear a little clunk when it hits the limit. Is that what you mean?
