G1x2 macro?

How does the G1Xmk2 work on its own as a macro shooter?
One of my favorite uses for my G12 is macro shots on the fly without adding diopter lenses.
Wondering if the second gen of G1X has more game in this area.

I would say adequate for the mk2 but not as good as the other G's.
