Lighting for Image Editing & Print Evaluation

In an effort to achieve an accurate print-to-screen match, I have a couple of questions.

1. How critical is it to evaluate prints using a D50 (as opposed to a tungsten) light source?
2. Prior to printing, should the images be edited using the same D50 lights?

[Edit] Several of the articles were indeed helpful in addressing the importance of lighting when print viewing. However, I am still curious whether image editing (prior to printing) should be done under the same lighting conditions subsequent print viewing?

I think you may be confusing that with editing a print according to the light conditions that it will be viewed under.

This. The editing of an image is largely dependent on screen brightness., not so much the smbient light in the room.
