Hey,

So I'm shopping for a new lens. I need something for indoor shoots, family, kids, babies. I have the 70-200 II 2.8, the 24-105 and a 50mm 1.8.

The 50mm would be ok, but I find the focus hit or miss, not really my favorite lens.

I rented the 35mm 1.4 and liked it alot.

What would you guys recommend? 35mm 1.4, 24-70 2.8..?

Why not use your flash with the 24-105?

If pressed for a lens recommendation, I'd say that the 35L is a nice lens, I owned one for years, but if I were to do another 35mm Canon, it would be the f/2 IS.

Looking at the 35mm f2 IS. Alot cheaper and produces really nice results!

Heya,

I would go with the 35 F2 IS if you want to shoot in low light, with the 6D, it's a monster in the dark.

If you want the better 35 out there, the Sigma 35 F1.4 is the way to go. 1 stop faster, but no IS.

If F4 depth of field is not your thing, then F2.8 will barely satisfy either. At the wide focal length, DOF will be quite different at F2.8 than a 200 F2.8 will look. So F1.4 on a wide angle will do more what you're looking to do.

Very best,
