Please be gentle! :oops: This is my first attempt at photographing the moon. I am very new to photography in general, and have yet to fully understand post processing. I'll get there...eventually!

Took this shot Sunday in late afternoon. The sky was an incredible dark blue and it gave the moon this blue tent. The sky was so beautiful I decided not to crop down too close. This shot is how I saw it....

Did you use a tripod? Looks a bit soft.

Nope... Hand-held. I know this a no-no with photographing the moon, but I was actually taking random pictures as I walked around the back yard. I just happened to notice the moon and took the shot. I probably could have retrieved the tripod, but didn't.

Not ready for National Geographic yet, but I was happy with the shot. Practice makes perfect!
