Nice! Can't wait.. :D
I wish this lens will not suffer about such a huge focus breathing like 70-300L IS (which is more like 200mm at MFD).

I don't understand... the full profile picture at the top CLEARLY has a 'smooth-tight' ring on it like the current 100-400 does. yet they say it's not a push-pull. have they added the resistance to the twist to zoom lens(s) now? I don't know of another canon lens with twist to zoom + resistance. Anyone else know?

I bet it extends out far enough that zoom creep can't be avoided without the ring.

That would be as bad as Nikon with their 80-400 price tag. I'm hoping for $1899.

Had been considering pre ordering the sigma 150-600 sport lens but, if this rumor is true I will be selling off my current 100-400 for this long as the price isn't to high on it. With the price of the sigma I could see this being in the $2200-$2500 range but much more then that would be out of my budget.

If the optics are up to scratch (and it's all genuine!) I can see my 500 going and this plus a 7D2 being added. All ifs though. This must be canons longest running rumour!

They've got my attention. I want it. I would pay $2500 but I'm hoping less is more accurate. The more it costs, the longer before I save up for it, but I still want it. Unless someone from Canon is actually reading this then, "There is no way I would pay more than $1800 for it" ;)

Keep your 600.

400 vs 600 is not even a contest if you are after reach.

You either need 600, or you don't.

;)

Very best,

Based on pricing for version II lenses lately, I'm thinking $4K for this.

Very best,

The Tony Northrup video compared the Tammy 150-600 against the 400/5.6 with a 1.4 TC and the 400/5.6 still outresolved it. If you are going to be cropping either way, there is more to it than just focal length. I suspect the 100-400 II is going to be very sharp and in the same league as the 70-200/2.8 II.

When they do release a mark II there will probably be a run on the mark III teleconverters.
