Has anyone else had problems with their MagMods?

This pair has been in one of my camera bags, not attached to a flash, for months. I only put it onto the flash when actually using it because it takes up so much room. I don't remember it having these cracks the last time I put it in, about a month ago. It wasn't rubbing up against anything and this is summer in Japan, so it's not particularly dry.

I've contacted MagMod support and have every bit of confidence they will make this right, just curious if anyone else has had an issue.

(My apologies for a TERRIBLE photo, but hopefully it's enough to give everyone an idea of the problem.)

Interestingly, they've only cracked on one side, the other side appears to be find. Also, it's the same side, the 'left' side as viewed from attached.

I have managed to find several instances of other MagMod users who have experienced the same thing. Apparently these were from the early versions of the Grip which have been beefed up since then. According to the posts that I read MagMod will replace them for you

bw!
Yes, once I realized why my search wasn't working, I too found other accounts. Good news - like you said, this is a known issue, it's been fixed, and they'll send you new ones, all they ask is you send them pictures and tell them what flash you use.

At least their support is great :) Picture of the rip and wanted to know what flash model I was using.

They will send a replacement.

Same! My replacements shipped this morning. After recent experiences with paypal, it's great to talk to a real person.

No rips in mine.
I use the smaller 430 EX2 and I do not remove the Mag Grip from my flash. It still fits int he factory case if you fold the sides down a bit.

Forgot to update this -- I received replacement MagGrips from MagMods and they are just enough thicker on the outside to resolve this problem. Happy customer.
