How can I improve these? I have tried ISO 3500-6400 white balance up and down but they always come out grainy

Obviously the lower end bodies dont handle the noise so well, so if the noise is what you are worried about you just sometimes have to deal with it and make the best of it.

Bob_A Cream of the Crop More info | Nov 10, 2014 21:59 | #8 I shoot some swimming (definitely not a pro) but would probably shoot these in RAW at f/2.8 and 1/500s then crank up the ISO to whatever is required to get the proper exposure. If the lighting is really horrible and I needed > ISO 8000 with my Nikon D700 I'd just put my gear away and watch the game. With a newer camera like a D810 or D750 (sorry, I only know Noink these days) I could go beyond ISO 8000. Bob
