Taken on the 1st Nov on what was a very challenging day for aviation let alone for display flying with wind, rain & low cloud. The museum did a fantastic job to get any of the aircraft up.

Look good considering that sky. Not much light in it.

Good ones. I think the Mk VIII was the high altitude version.

Almost Frank, The MkVIII was developed from the MkVII without the pressurized cockpit and some other goodies added. It was made as the low level (LF) medium level (F) and High altitude (HF) versions with the Merlin type being the difference. 758 was the last Spitfire delivered to the RAAF and is a HF MkVIII.

From the Temora Aviation Museum web page;
"This aircraft was the last Spitfire acquired by the Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF). It was built by Supermarine in England in 1944, test flown and then shipped to Australia. The Air Force took delivery of the aircraft in April 1945. with World War II drawing to a close, the aircraft was not required on active service and was placed into storage""

Thanks, I didn't realise that there were three versions of it. My memory was tweaked by the 'clipped' tail of this one.
