Not sure if that process would also work for 7D2 raw files. Flickr

That would be Adobe's DNG converter, which they provide so that users of earlier version of Lightroom/ACR can convert new RAW files their software doesn't support into DNG files for processing. Unfortunately Adobe have not yet issued an update for the DNG converter either, so that option isn't available yet. Dan Marchant
