Can finally preorder!:

Adorama:

The 0.3x magnification is awesome! I can't find out anywhere whether the rear has space for an extender though--but surely it must?

I think Christmas is gonna be great this year! :)

The 1.4x converter is listed under compatible accessories!

I like the idea of the window in the hood to allow rotation of a polarizer.

It is also dust and weather sealed.

I may start looking for a home for my 400/5.6L

The MTF chart shows both 1.4x and 2.0x extenders.

*sigh* Another lens to add to my wish list... thanks a lot, Canon.

Wow!!! VERY exciting stuff!

Timing-wise, it's just a bit of a shame they didn't announce it together with the 7D II.

MTF looks pretty good, and if I am reading it correctly, the tele end is super good. This is good news since all the 150-600's seem to be the opposite with the wide end being better. This thing might actually be sharper @ ~600mm with an extender than those at their native focal length 600mm.

After years and years of rumors, Canon finally released a 100-400L Mark II.

My gosh, maybe sometime next year we might even see the 35L Mark II!
