Winter Jam, Nov 7, 2014

Great show, great bands, they really fought through the technical problems and
delivered an wonderful night to a crowd of 15,000 or so in the Gila River Arena.

All shots:
Canon 6D, 100mm f/2.8L Macro, 1/120-1/180 shutter, 1000-1600 ISO range, f/4.

Special thanks to the lighting guy who helped everything look cool. :)

Battistelli

Lead guitar player for Colton Dixon. Fun trivia: One of about 3 photos I've ever taken as an intentional dutch-angled shot.

thank Benon! The Aussies were KILLING it that night...can't wait to hear them again!

I don't know if color helps, but here's the color versions
(Side note: the first photo, of Francesca won't make color...they had red light on her and a blue background, and no matter how I tweak it, she looks like a devil hehehehe!)

No worries!! Thanks for taking a look and making me reevaluate the shots...it's a habit I should get into more often!

With a lot of wizardry I got Francesca to (at best) be the color of an Oompa Loompa so
She'll stay B&W for good hehehe!

Right?! It really just can't be dealt with hardly aside from dragging the saturation slider south
And kicking up the contrast. Any subtleties get zapped pretty fast by it, it seems!
What's your trick for red lighting?

Thanks guys!
I actually shot it because I wanted to see Hillsongs live and shoot them as a semi-pro...I'm looking at doing some stock
photog work and I thought this would be a good chance to kill two birds with one stone.

The only two lenses I had access to was my 50mm /1.4 and the 100L macro.
I've shot a lot with the 100L and it's fast becoming one of my all time favorite "do it all" primes...
So naturally I wondered, "hey can I do a concert with this thing?"
And so I gave it a shot! :)

I love that first shot.

#5 could've been the money shot, though. The focus is a real issue there...

Just shut up and smile...

Thanks Road Dog!!
Well here's the very next frame AFTER #5... no cool light burst but the motion blur is reduced...a bit.

I have a preset that deals specifically with red lighting, you can PM as I'm pretty sure if I posted it here I'd be breaking some rule.
