Looking for critique on composition, subject, processing. In particular does the 'noise' in the foreground detract? Can processing help this? To tell you the truth, I think it is mostly the sand showing through the water, but it looks like noise.

Exif: Canon 10-22 on a T3i at 12mm, f/16, 20 sec, ISO 100 with a CPL.

Great image. I might crop a bit off the bottom, maybe to just below that larger rounded rock on the left. I don't like that little bit of gravel you see just below the surface at the bottom.

Thanks Acetoolguy - I've been trying to figure out what to do with the bottom bit of the photo because I don't like it either. I guess when in doubt, crop it out is one option.

Love it :), To an average person, it looks fine :). But people on here look for every little mistake, which in reality people who buy photographs don't.

I think it looks good. Did you use a polarizer? Seems to be quite a bit of glare coming off the rocks. Interesting composition and pleasing mood captured.

I would take some off the bottom. Besides that it looks great to my eyes.

Thanks all - I really appreciate the comments. I did use a polarizer, but it was pretty dark so it was tough to align for minimum glare off the rocks. Since you mentioned it, I darkened the brightest area on the rocks on the left and like it a bit better - it doesn't pull your eyes over that way quite as much.

I think it is a great pic. I see where other's said to take some of the bottom off..but to me it makes it look a little more interesting with it.

I kind of agree with this and would be the way I would crop it, but the way you have cropped it is certainly not terrible and does not IMHO detract much from what is a very nice photograph.

Thanks again for the critique. Here is a version cropped up a little tighter.

I think you did very well with the composition and I like both versions; I like the crop of the original the best compositionally, but the "noise", aka, sand would drive my type-A, perfectionistic personality nuts so I would end up cropping it like the your second edit-which is also great. ;-)a

I REALLY like the second edit. It moves the positioning of the horizon and that's why I like it best (not because of the bottom of the photo). Great shot.
