Anyone use flash / strobe for rolling shots?

If so, on or off camera? I'm curious if it will make a difference. I imagine shooting Tv with a slow shutter (1/10 - 1/60) during the golden hour would yield a nice exposure. But, having no experience with this I'm not really sure.

Thanks for any tips or thoughts on the subject. Also, example shots would be awesome :cool:

I don't think this will work as the flash will freeze the car and you won't get the motion you want

Depending on how slow the shutter speed is, you should get most of the blur in the background, & maybe some in the car. Best thing is to try it & see if those are the results that you want.

Id sooner try continuous source of light. RAW files can be stretched pretty aggressively. Just expose properly for the scene.

I highly recommend not using a flash. If you're shooting a moving car, choose a road that will allow you to use natural light where the subject is properly lit. Pick the right time of day to do it. Using a flash will cause the wheels to be frozen in space, even if it is set at a very low burst.
