edrader "I am not the final word" More info | terrible range. I'd dump it for something more useful -- e.g., 17-40, 16-35 etc http://instagram.com/edraderphotography/

Nov 12, 2014 12:18 | #6 Permanent banI had it for a few days. Immediately resold it on CL. At least I broke even. All the range of a good prime and none of the aperture. Add to that some horrific flare and CA issues, and you've got a poor investment, even for $100. The efs 18-55 IS II is way better lens, in every respect imaginable, except full-frame compatibility. WARNING: I often dispense advice in fields I know little about!

Nov 12, 2014 12:33 | #7 I used to own one when I was shooting film (maybe 15 years ago) and thought it was a pretty good lens. At the time it was a much better value than the 20-35 f/2.8 Canon and nearly as good. Canon G1X II, 1D MKIV, 5DSR, 5DIV, 5D MKII, 16-35/2.8L II, 24-70/2.8L II, 70-200/2.8L IS II, IS, 100-400/4.5-5.6 L IS II, 500/4 L IS II, 24-105/4 IS, 50/2.5 macro, 1.4x MKII, 1.4X MKIII, 2X MKIII,580EX II, 550EXs(2), ST-E2.

Nov 12, 2014 17:35 | #10 I have one that I used to use on my 10D for exterior real estate photos for our flyers. Worked great for what I needed it for but was useless on the interior of properties - too wide on the crop sensor. Switched it out for the 10-22. Canon R3 (2), RF85L 1.2, RF600 F11, RF800 F11, Canon 14-35L F4, Canon 1DX Mark iii, 100 F2.8 Macro, 135 F2, 200L F2.8, 300L F4, 400L 5.6, 17-40 F4, 24-70 F2.8L, 70-200 F2.8L ii, 70-200 F4 IS, 100-400 L F4.0-5.6, Tamron 150-600.
