My set up included three alien bees. 2 B800's on the sides and one B400 for backlight. As stated, this was my first studio shoot. I would love to hear what you guys think. What could/should I have done differently?

some harsh shadows on her face in the first few. I think you need softbox(s).

I had soft boxes. Maybe I had the power too high on the strobes?

You may have had them too far from your subject. The farther they are from your subject, the smaller your light source becomes and a small light source produces hard shadows.

Well done for your first try!

What was your lighting setup for this? Your lighting is somewhat flat.. Were the lights at a ratio to each other? It almost looks like you had two at 30 degree angle on either side, at the same power.

I'm not sure exactly what the angles were. But they were equal distance from the model. I want to say maybe 5 feet from her? I believe we had the power set in between 1/16 and 1/32 for the first set and just above 1/8 for the second.

A little translucent powder on her face might knock some of that shine off.
