Overcast would be fine. I'm just not ready to test the weather sealing yet. They are calling for 3in of rain between now and tomorrow morning. Lol.

Roger Cicala reckons the 7D2 is the best sealed body he's opened up

While that is probably true, I will avoid the type of rain we hare having today if at all possible. Unfortunately none of the lenses I have are as robust. Either way, I'm eager to test it, just not that eager.

I got a chance to get out today. Second outing Since I had no real value to enter for my 100-400 and TC I just left it at +14. Lowest value with Dot Tune was +5 and it still beeped at +20. I'll have to dial it in properly one day.

Case 2, single point expansion.

So for BIF I tried Case 1, 2, 5 and 6 and with each one on single, expanded and 51 zone. It was like shooting fish in a barrel. Although fast as they glided by they were steady and every case and AF method did well.

I actually found the TC limiting because you only get centre point. In zone I could move the initial point around to start focusing. It was a lot of fun.

Case 6, 65 point zone and no TC.

I have to say I was impressed with zone on the 7D2. I spotted this one in front of a moving bus so I got going.

Case 1, 65 point zone no TC

This was the first frame and one AF point hit the bird. I was not too steady here as well and just resized direct from DPP with no PP so not as sharp as they should be.

I'm going to have to work on that zone getting the eye in focus thing you do. I still think I'll probably got with one AF point but I am curious. I like how you can move the AF point around and pick the area you want to work on.

Like I said, I'm very impressed with this body. I thought my 7D was the cat's meow.

Those loon shots you have been posting are nice. Can I ask you something. Do you have a massive scrim you carry around or do always get that perfect thin vale of cloud to diffuse the sun in Ontario? :-)
