Ya no kiddng, I have my doubt's though. Mine is up for its third trip back. Yesterday I shot 869 images of my fav target's, out of the 869 images I think I got less than 40 in focus and of those the detail is ify at best. I did get one or two decent shots but the light had to just right and some how it pulled out a shot. I'm going to take everyones advice and full there server with examples of my problem. It seems if I ajust say case 5 the hole thong falls apart. i don't really know how to explain it.

On the ground at 10 feet,..I call this a mess. I took 12 images they are varying deg of focus around this. I switched to one shot because i could see on the back of the camera it was not good and got the same result.

Maybe I just need to reset the camera before every shoot to square the camera away lol

This is LR set to zero on everything and exported as a jpeg

Looking at this shot on a ten inch tablet the eyes look good but I agree the fur is not shall we say crisp. Overall I see a lot of this with my own camera. Close but no cigar. Good luck.

At this point your situation is past ridiculous.

Jeff,

I am suffering along with you... vicariously and we'll see.. maybe literally. We're getting three days of rain when I'm off from work this week so it might be difficult for me to actually test things out. I was pretty hopeful but after reading what you are going through, I'm feel a tad apprehensive.

I hope Canon can get your 7D2 back on track. A repair shouldn't destroy a camera, obviously. They have to take care of you, don't they? I mean... how can they not?

Ya that's what I think as well Kim, how can Canon do damage to a smokin good camera, and if so why am I sending it back to them in Toronto. Maybe it needs to go somewhere's else. I'm starting to feel it's when I make changes to settings...like simply move to any other case put #1, I can reset and snap at the birds on my deck and get pretty ok stuff, I can shoot the moon and get amazing images handheld. I shoot a fox at 20 to 50 feet and everything is wrong with the image. I should apologies to everyone who said this in the beginning and I just posted another infocus image.

May intention is to send them all the crap images and a bunch of images that I shot before they fixed my wheel and I don't want to see this camera do any speed turn arounds down there. if it doesn't come back my old camera. well my head my explode,.. I missed the one thing that makes photography around here great,....The Fall

I mean its not my imagination, I've been shooting this gear since it came out. ??

When I emailed CPS, I said the same thing.... .I'm not a noob. I've been shooting this combination for almost a year... and know something isn't the same. We'll see if they were able to fix mine. I'm anxious to get out there and really test it out.

Ain't it a b*tch ?? The ultimate in frustration not being able to explain what's going on. This is like what some women sometimes describe about bringing their car into a mechanic with an intermittent problem and something they can't explain or duplicate at will. 40 out of almost 900 would make me cry after what you have been able to bring out of that camera ! Good luck with Canon (again). :-(

Ya no kidding Ned, the quality and sharpness just leave the camera, the fine detail and sharp focus ...gone. it is frustrating I can tell you lol and yet every once in a while boom a shot is not bad, scratching my head in Ontario Canada

When I tried explaining "inconsistent shots" to the techs in VA they talked me around the block to the point I couldn't even speak let alone articulate the problem.... fact is I couldn't see rhyme nor reason or put my finger on anything concrete. They gently told me it must be my technique..... "Have you tried Case #1 ? Sometimes it's all you need....." GGggrrrrrrr......

When I was a kid and the TV screen started rolling for no reason we would walk over and slap it hard on the side..... that sometimes brought things into focus for a bit !

I'll tell ya, some days my frustration level was high enough to want to try that ol' trick !

Lol ya we had a Tv like that as well lol, the trick is to stop them in there tracks and ask them a question that is more complicated that there brains can process in a short amount of time lol then get to the heart of your problem. I left my camera in case #1 for most of the checking ( I hate the word testing ) of the camera just so they could not say those words to me lol

Yeah, I have to agree Pond, this doesn't look that good. Did you have to MicroAF your lens prior to sending to Canon or did it just work out the box? I will be sure to tell them jokers to not adjust anything, if I need work done. Looking at any image on a phone or tablet type gear will always be deceitful.

Yes, send them a CD with all 800+ so they really get the message - not just a few of them.

That's wasted effort on your part, because there's no way they will look at them all.

They are running a business and have to make a profit. A man-hour costs money. My guess is that in total they won't spend more than an hour on most cases.
