I was told by the super that they had a tech from CPS there and they talked about my camera in a meeting and he wanted to look at it. I have never seen it since

You think if you told the supervisor that you contribute to a 5500 post thread that followed your camera's day to day issue and wanted follow they would share:
1. what did the CPS tech say when he worked on the faulty camera I. The Toronto facility?
2. What did the repair entail and did it then become properly working? (notice I didn't say in Spec since they always claimed in spec.)
3. Do they thinK that Canon Canada has new skills necessary to repair the same kind of problems on their own without the CPS tech? If not, what would they suggest other Canadians do with similar problem?

There is a great Birder on FM who has great one shot results, but poor servo tracking results like you had. It already made one trip to Toronto.

Mmmm I told them about this forum, I told them you were all waiting to find out the results. I did that from the start and I told the super that there was no pressure, just 165,000 members waiting to hear. I wasn't sure of the number but it sounded good.

AIservo for me is working as good or better than it ever has in this new camera. the camera is smooth and right on the money, I can see the focus layer as it moves across a bird or subject and my lens is quiet and smooth, no one is getting this camera I don't care what happens.

I might have misunderstood your earlier post. For the Custom settings, it was my understanding that the entire Camera state vector was saved which would expect to include case /subsettings . I didn't understand your post and whether you are saying that this is true. (see next paragraph where the subsettings are what are actually saved)

Now, to better explain my previous post. I am not sure whether the Case Number And respective latest subsettings are saved, or whether just the actual subsettings values. I say that I don't know which because early on with my 7dii, in the Green Favorites menu on the camera where you can add the parameters you want quick access to, I could not find Case Value to add, only the individual subsettings values. So, I think editing individual subsettings values might be required to be saved within the case.

Oh I think I see what you mean.

I suspect all the case settings (three values) are saved along with the selected case.

I can't be sure as I have only edited one case.

Pondrader is there any chance you can reply regarding the settings you changed that gave you a big noise improvement on your camera...
2 people have asked now but you haven't replied...
If there are indeed settings that can be changed to greatly improve noise it would be beneficial to all canon owners ....

Unfortunately the Muskrat days are all over for now, The water has almost completely covered this bench and the ice has moved in and closed all the open spots until breakup I would think, I'm sure you see the difference in the images I have posted and now with the new camera, We are now in the worst light of the year and I'm liking this camera as much as my first.

My camera was a bit noisy in the first couple thousand Images, but I have made some adjustments that have made great improvements. I shoot only raw as a rule

don1163 wrote in post #17840485 (external link)
Could you tell us what adjustments you made on the camera to greatly improve noise....it would be very helpful to others..

Pondrader- 3rd request, please.

I understand if you want to keep your secret, but it would be nice if you said that it's your secret.

Thanks in advance!.

He won't post a valid answer on here because there are no adjustments to be made that will greatly reduce noise...
I find the lack of response to peoples requests as rude and ignorant...

I agree with this. Mine has always been very good and sometimes even adding 1/3rd EC gets blown highlights

Hockey and wedding photographer. Favourite camera / lens combos: a 1DX II with a Tamron 45 1.8 VC, an A7Rii with a Canon 24-70F2.8L II, and a 5DSR with a Tamron 85 1.8 VC. Every lens I own I strongly recommend [Canon (35Lii, 100L Macro, 24-70F2.8ii, 70-200F2.8ii, 100-400Lii), Tamron (45 1.8, 85 1.8), Sigma 24-105]. If there are better lenses out there let me know because I haven't found them.

Don my Moma always told me " if you have nothing good to say ...say nothing" and you have made it clear of what you think of what I have to say...So I have nothing for you. Read your manual... There is nothing that I could say or do for you that you would not punch holes in. If you were a reasonable conversationalist like most on these pages we could talk ...but you have made your bed !! And as for the noise in my image's well you can see for yourself on the pages of PTON. End of story
