Julie,
By continuous, do you mean Continuous AF (one of the menu settings) that let's the live view continuously focus, or do you mean continuous as in high speed shutter which would be the Drive setting?

high speed frames per second, it will only allow one shot at a time, usually if you hold down the shutter button it will take more than one photo but in live view it has decided not to allow it

Edit
I have figured it out, I had somehow changed the live view setttings, all back to normal now

I did not know you could shoot using HSC in live view. I rarely use LV. Once for my moon shot on my 7D about 5 years ago.

For the readers benefit, what did you find changed, and what was your final correct settings?

You can, and its quite fast since the mirror is taken out of the equation. Probably the same 10fps, but it feels faster.

Did anyone notice if the burst shots are more in focus than when shooting normally?

In the menu I think it was the live view setting, it had 3 options, I disabled it, think it was on option 2, cant quite remember

I usually only use it when Im shooting low from hip hight or above my head so I get less keepers, I mainly use live view for focusing manually for long exposure shots in low light as you can magnify but have yet to do a long exposure on 7DII as I use 5DIII for that stuff, will have to give it a go

Wow, fun reading.

What a lot of snake oil the grips adds, it might even cure warts!

wow. ugh.

that made my poor old eyes gloss over & shut down (that thread?).

this "noise" keeps me away from a 7d2.

a mistake?

Why? There isn't some inherent issue with the 7d2. It is a very good crop body.

Oh my god, most dumbest thread Ive read in a while.

The guy who posted "forget AI focus, real cameras dont have it", well whoop de do maybe we should just go back to a box brownie, I use that mode without issues.

I dont understand how anyone would think a grip would play any part in focus issues. I no longer use grips mainly because I really dont want to carry the extra weight.
My husband uses them, the only issue we have ever had with a grip is recently the hubby's camera just stopped working while we were out shooting.
He has a 70D. First he changed the SD card, then the lens then out of the blue I said check the grip. If its not done up tight the connection misses obviously, he had been getting missed shots and strange effects then the camera shut down. We found the grip was a little loose and that was all it was. so maybe that is a possibility.

As for noise, 7DII is pretty good noise wise

Yes I think I'll switch to the old Yashica twin lens reflex for all my hi speed wildlife action, after all two lenses must be better than one. :)

Nothing about the logic in that thread makes much sense to me. I guess we sum it up that humans are belief driving creatures not fact or logic driven, they like to believe stuff and make up facts to fit the belief.

Well when I posted it was not for the whole thread. People were curious about what electrical adjustment meant when they got their work order back from Canon. Lester who is an electric engineer was not too sure about that explanation. I just noticed that the person just repeated Canon's explanation.

I don't understand it either, and have never really understood the "electronic adjustments were made" comments I have personally received. I think what it means is that they changed some configurations/lookup tables inside to alleviate the issue.

I had a 5D2 that had excessive noise. I sent it in, they cam back with this explanation. The noise was only marginally better, but the same pattern was in place. I think they just changed some parameters related to NR and nothing else.

It sounds better that they "changed something electronically" than "they changed some configuration settings". It makes customers feel better, until we collectively talk about it. :)
