One of the disks? Mine only came with one disk. I just checked the "in the box" tab at B&H and it only shows one disk.

There is only one disc.

I had 3 discs with mine. One was for programming, one was for the manual and I don't remember what the other was for. I got mine from Adorama.

That is strange.

The real manual (full PDF from Canon's website) not that abbreviated joke they ship in the box ;)

I have not broken the manual's jacket since the 50D and 5Dc. I use only the PDF's.

I never take the neck strap out of the package either. I remember their was a thread about keeping camera and lens boxes. I know it probably does not have huge impact but you should have seen the guys eyes light up when he seen those two items still packaged when he came to buy my 7D. There was very little negotiating.

As someone else said, I was having issues with the Tamron 150-600 and the Canon 70-200 F/4 L IS.
I think maybe 3-4 people have reported issues with the Mark II and the Tamron. That I've seen.

I keep testing the camera each night/morning for a little bit, indoors. So far, it still "seems" to be good. I need to get out tomorrow and shoot in good light and see how it really performs.

I am seeing some shots being slightly soft, but every so slightly. That also might be from poor indoor lighting, or camera shake/too slow of a shutter. But I am definitely getting some perfectly sharp images in one shot and AI Servo on static targets.

If you are within your return period and can easily get another body, I'd swap it out and see. If you are having random issues.

Yes, the 7D2 can store data for 40 (I think) different lenses, and for zooms you can adjust both the near and far end focal distances. It is retained as long as you don't reset the camera to factory settings.

Keyan wrote in post #17268782 (external link)
Yep, that is a feature introduced on the 5D3 and is also on the 1Dx and the 70D.

Thank you for this info Keyan!

Also, if you are using the Tamron 150-600. I'd maybe send it in for the Firmware Update. It makes it AF faster and get stuck much less often/search less. It's still not perfect/amazing, but it is better.

I guess not that strange.

1) Camera Instruction Manual? Does the mean you did not get the paper back one?

Actually being from Canada we get two paper manuals - one in french and the other in English. Maybe all the Canadian bound units just get the one disk. I only downloaded the latest DPP from the disk but there were many other items on the disk. The solution stuff was probably on the disk.

Yes, I know that. That is why I was asking nsnqst what his settings were to eliminate shutter release before focus was achieved as the source of the problem.

Your right. I misread your post. My bad.

Hi Matt can you send me a link on those with Tamron 150-600mm and 7D2 having issues on front/back focusing? You mention 3 or 4. I'd like to know because if this is a problem with 7D2 I might wait for them to acknowledge it maybe issue a firmware fix before I buy it. Thanks

It [AF microadjustments] is retained as long as you don't reset the camera to factory settings.

According to the manual (page 138, English PDF), "the adjustments will be retained even if you clear all the camera settings (p. 70). However, the setting itself will be [Disable]".

I saw some posts in the Mark II image thread before I made this one. I'm not sure what pages they were on. Maybe around 100 or so.

Canon will likely never fix the firmware for a third party lens compatibility issue. On the contrary, they would probably be thrilled it happened as it fuels the fire of first party Canon vs third party "hacked on" lenses as Canon does not license or publish their lens communication tech, it is all reverse engineered.
