Tell me about it. I was literally scrolling up/down going OK this is the one, no wait this, no wait this.... I then tried to look at things out side of the photos them selves like, M_six either got really lucky or was extremely patient(probably a bit of both) to actually get the sun shining on a Castle in the UK. I'm just glad jetcode used "Eceti 2010 UFO Conference" for the title as it tipped the scales in his favor.

It's a lot of fun picking a photo to use. I can see picking a topic going either way, this time I picked this topic because we had ever type of clouds you can imagine over the previous week and I was bummed I didn't get shoot any scenes with them, even the day day that had full on grey sky still had a lot of drama in the clouds. Picking a winner well that's another story, the only way it could be easy is if only 1 person uploaded something.

Competitions are like that. I have seen 1000 entries vie for 10 spots. It becomes highly subjective. So in the end there really are no winners just a bunch of great images.

Pure luck. I have several other shots with no sun. I was walking back to the car when the sun broke through for about 20 seconds. Sometimes you get lucky. We were there in September for 10 days and only had rain for about 15 minutes one day. The rest of the time was cloudy or partly cloudy with a fair bit of sun. Again, very lucky.

I got pretty lucky the with the rain the one time I vacationed in the UK, it only rained(well more like drizzled) while at Stonehenge and that didn't even happen until after being there for awhile toward when we almost ready to go. I think we even had some party sunny days while I was there, but that was probably the day we took the fairy over to France.
