There's only 1 feature I would like to see being added to the current forum and that is Tapatalk support. But I'm guessing that's not gonna happen...

You haven't even been in AMASS yet and are already making demands? I suggest you wait until you actually see and experience the new software.

If me saying "Please, pretty pretty please, do not force black text on a white background on us.. " is a demand, I'm curious what qualifies as a polite request in your world.. ;)

They are adjustable, so you can set them as narrow or as wide as you like.

Good to hear!

It's better than itself?

Levina gave good advice. I gave the same advice above. Getting nervous about what AMASS! might look like is pointless. I find it more relaxing to view than POTN's current format, and I know about eyestrain.

I've updated the text.

A major part of any software development process is iterating through various stages and incorporating feedback and suggestions. I'm not nervous about AMASS, just sharing a viewpoint (that up until my comment, I have not seen any discussion about) regarding a feature that I find useful.

Yeah it didnt seem like a "demand" to me either. Heck i requested MDJAK be removed for user experience boost in a much stronger tone

Very much looking forward to the new roll out. I am also glad to see that there is more open support for all manufacturers. While I am a Canon guy, I have friends who are not and they said they felt a little intimidated by some users who indirectly bashed their non Canon gear.
This is a very valuable and important resource to all photographers, and the information shared is great regardless of the tool used to capture the images.
I can't wait to share with them the changes so they can hopefully feel more comfortable with the new non specific format.
And thank you Pekka for all of the hard work. My son is a developer and I know how much work a full system re-write can be. And I definitely appreciate what I have seen so far in the video's.

people still use that? Mobile web is plenty fine, and even then, I like using full sites for mobile devices. As long as the site rescales nicely, no need for an "app"

No, that wasn't what I responded to. It was this bit:

Edit - I see the actual discussions are not black on white, but if we could do something about the rest of the pages, (even an invert option) it would be greatly appreciated.

This is Pekka's work. He wrote the software from scratch and we, beta testers, have seen its full potential and beauty. And here you are, not having seen it, already asking that "we" change it. But "we" do not do anything. It just got to me that in an off hand way, you would take Pekka's work of 5 years and change it to your liking. That just didn't sit well with me. However, I apologise if my response was too harsh.

So just wait and see. I'm sure there will be plenty of opportunities later on to express wishes. Colour options may also be available down the line. Just be patient.

That is what the beta testers were for. We used and tested the software, gave feedback and suggestions, found bugs and what not. The fact that you have not seen any discussion about something on POTN, does not mean it was not covered in beta. Trust me, it was. ;)

I use it all the time when I'm not at home. Conserves bandwidth, loads faster and because of that my prepaid mobile phone cards last longer.

I agree with Levina here. Feedback is nice, but small picky features that would take a bunch more re-write is unnecessary. As a beta tester, I can assure you that the new AMASS looks a lot better than the current PoTN. You will enjoy the heck out of it. If you still want an inverted scheme, then simply buy a macbook and press Command+alt/option+F5 and select "Invert Screen." Then you can forever have abnormally ugly ghost-like colors on your screen! ;)

Americans typically use contracts, prepaid has been pretty good overseas from my experience. Very inexpensive, never locked in, it's pretty cool. Use only what you need.

I was simply asking for it to be considered, having no evidence that is has been otherwise discussed. I don't think anyone else saw it as a demand or criticism of Pekka's work, but my apologies if it came off that way.

I'm glad there's a beta, but if it's going to be closed, it's not unreasonable to expect questions and suggestions from those of us who are not privy to the beta. I am sure that if Pekka wanted to restrict discussion to only the beta users, he wouldn't have posted this thread in a public forum. :)

The problem is that what is a small, picky feature to you is not a small picky feature to others. :) I'm glad to hear you enjoy it so much, I hope the rest of us will as well.

Many people do, it's extremely useful. Having all your forums in a single place, with all your subscribed threads, PM"s, etc.. across all your forums is very handy.

Personally, I rarely use mobile devices to read forums, but I can see how others would value it.

That being said, since Pekka is writing this from scratch, I would be very surprised if he included it.
