As a forum suggestion, isn't there an option to have the forum software resize photographs to fit the viewers screen, and allow the viewer to click on the picture to view a larger/native size photograph?

Not for this vBulletin version of POTN.
Read the sticky thread in this section PREPARE TO BE MOVED: We will be running AMASS software this month. In AMASS you will find nice resizing routines incorporated, among other great features.
