Interesting size comparison I did. This lens attached to Canon's smallest DSLR, the SL1. I mean it's not TOO much bigger than the main mirrorless competition with their respective pancake lenses. I think the Canon kit would be the cheapest as well, although probably the most decontented as well.

I love my 700D with the 40mm f/2.8 for street photography. Light and very unobtrusive. The EF-S 24mm could be a good partner for the 40mm pancake.

In contrast to the above, I was trying out my new 24stm at a basketball game and noted that it was fine for closer shots as well. This was from a distance of about 12-15 inches (MFD is a little over 6). Note the excellent detail on the hair, but the shallow DOF in the face. I'm going to enjoy exploring the possibilities with this lens.

edit: Now that I've posted it, I notice the hair detail isn't quite as distinct here as it is on my laptop ... but you get the idea.

Got this lens today. Love the focal lenght. Perfect for indoors.
Good macro capabilities as well. The most versatile prime lens for crop probably.

This lens is so much more friendly to use indoors than the EF 35 on crop
