Rather funky lens hood I found on Ebay.
It's metal, fits fine although the lens cap wont lock in with it attached and was only not too many dollars.
It adds a bit of length to the lens but my main reason for getting it was lens protection...drop in and pull out of a bag without the need and hassle of a lens cap.

Great shots, funny enough I used this lense for my sons cake smash.

That's indoors I presume, where the lens is actually more suitable for since you're closer when you're indoors.
For portrait outdoors a 50 prime is more suitable. I'm planning to get the new 50 f/1.8 STM for that reason :)

Nice! I would want one of these for the same reason.

Yup indoors. I have the 40mm pancake which I use for when I am outside. The 50 f/1.8 sounds awesome although I don't think I will get it since its close to the 40mm.

I used to have the 40mm f/2.8, which is also great for it's portability but the new 50 or even the old/current 50 will complement the 24 f/2.8 better IMO, because it's faster and longer.

Coolest looking lens hoods around. I use them on my 40mm f/2.8 and EF-M 22mm f/2. Mine are metal.
