First time ever shooting basketball. HELP!

I haven't learned to be a good critic of my own work yet.
The image links to a small set of 9 images.
Any brutal critiques, advice, tips, etc are encouraged.

My images were a little hot in the first half with some blown highlights so I dropped the ISO a bit. I also bumped my shutter speed up to 1/1000 instead of 1/800 because I was getting a little motion blur here and there.

Gear: A lot more than I deserve and a lot less than I want!

That's a pretty nice set!

Your position on the floor might not have been the best because of the bright scoreboard in the background at head level.

Nice image. Is that SLU? I am in Hammond so its nice to see the college here being shown in the photo.

Well I appreciate the comments. And I'll definitely try to be more aware of distractions like that scoreboard. I wasn't even noticing it but now that I've looked, it's in half the photographs!

Yeah, that was SLU. Have a look at the other photos if you haven't already! The players even got to see our first Oklahoma snow storm of the season while they were here. ;)
