My wife told me yesterday, "Why don't you buy yourself a new lens for Christmas? You deserve it." This is fate's cruelest joke of all. I really don't need anything. How am I supposed to handle this. My only thought is to surprise her with something of equal value for her. What the heck am I supposed to do?

You don't *need* any of the lenses that you currently have, so go for a "want" - easy peasy.

Bill is my name - I'm the most wanted man on my island, except I'm not on my island, of course. More's the pity.

Didn't think of that. She probably already bought it!

This is why I keep myself dissatisfied with my gear. I always know exactly what I'd buy next.

Is it possible that she already bought herself something expensive which you don't know about yet and is using this as a tactic to ease the blow of the expense?

Just had a thought. Sell 60D and 6D. Buy 5D3. I don't really need one of those either.

Who is Admiral Ackbar?

Not saying this rationalization isn't happening, but if your (plural) account has recently had a large cash withdrawal you aren't making it better by adding a second large withdrawal.
