Canon 60D

Ive been seriously debating going back to a 60D. They seem to be on a fire sale and be purchased for just over 400 bucks. Is there something that I am missing as to why so many have ditched this camera? I just came across a t3i brand new and was looking to just trade it for a 60D because the grip is bigger. Thoughts?

could be the same thing going on with the 7d,people are giving them away with the new 7d2 out,when the 70d came out the 60d became much less desirable,still a great deal if u can get one for 400,worlds better than the rebel line up,they feel great in your hand,

While this is definitely a possibility, I never had an issue with any lens on my 60D. I purchased the 70D and kept the 60D as a second body, then went to a 5D3 after selling my 70D, and realized that I wasn't using the 60D, so I let it go. I miss it, they are amazing bodies which produce amazing results. I still might pick one up since the prices are so low.

It doesn't have microfocus adjustment or the new AF system of the 7D/70D. The latter might not necessarily be a con for some people since it's still very reliable (and more reliable than defective 70Ds haha)

Did you get yours for $400 new or used?

im only seeing that price used, but like i said i just came across a brand new t3i that im sure i could trade for a 60D outright to the right trader. Given these positive responses i think i want to go for it. These rebels feel like toys especially now that i have some heavy glass to shoot with

the rebels feel like a toy , but they don't need micro adjustment like other pro bodies
put whatever any lens on it and you will get a sharp images
easy to use
try to shoot the moon using your T3i with a zoom like the 100-400L , I'm sure with one shot you will get a sharp image with a nice details
with other pro bodies you need to make more setup for this shot
The 60D the same without micro adjustment , and it's a nice camera too

Good choice, also you have more control on the body, such as the wheel in the back which is a huge difference when shooting in manual.
Better viewfinder, better body, better feel and cool screen, shhots faster and more cross type.
I would never go back to these toy camera, get the bigger ones with more dials.
You wont regret it, and there is some great prices all around......even new at 699$

haha,im not hating I love all the canon models. I think I had every rebel but even when I first put a 60D and 7D in my hand those felt far more comfortable which is big since I hand hold my camera most of the time especially for street photography with my wrist strap. Fortunately for me I have shot manual for 5 years with manual lenses only so a lot of the auto features have no appeal but those cross points sound inviting

A 60D refurb body from Canon is priced at $575 (http://shop.usa.canon.​com …/eos-60d-body-refurbished). If the usual 20% applies for the Canon Loyalty Program that gets you the body only for $460. Since it is essentially near new and has a 1-year warranty that extra $60 might be worth it.

I got my 60d in trade (in the $450 value range) and love it. Had 6k clicks on it, so I'm not complaining. I think it's just getting affordable due to the typical reasons like age and newer items coming out. Doesn't mean it's any less of a camera than when it first came out.

Mine is sharp with all the lenses I own, but normally I keep my 50mm 1.4 or 90mm 2.8 Tamron on it.

Basically, if you're in the US, you can send in an old, broken Canon camera (point and shoot, DSLR, etc.) to Canon for recycling and you can get a refurbished body or kit at a discount. My 60d was given a 20% discount from their refurb price of $575, so after taxes I got it shipped to my door for $490 and change.
Wonderful camera in pristine condition. So worth sending the broken powershot I picked up on ebay for 7 bucks!
