"The specific thing I heard is that next years camera might be the biggest camera jump ever. I don’t even know what sense this makes, but I’ve heard that it’s some kind of weird two-lens system where the back camera uses two lenses and it somehow takes it up into DSLR quality imagery."

"...possibility of attaching various small, fixed focal-length lens to the iPhone’s rear camera"

Is it like the cheap clip on lens I see on ebay to attach to my 50mm lens to make it a wide angle?

I realize that the cell phone camera is killing the small point-n-shoot market - but I don't see how these tiny phone lenses will compete with a DSLR?

I'd like to see Apple add the ability to save in raw format even if that's DNG.

I would assume that Apple would follow their tradition of not letting their customers change core components (ie. batteries). I guess maybe that's why they said "possibility of attaching" and not "ability of attaching".

It's not done to compete with DSLR's. It's done to get all the sheep (Apple fanboys & fangirls) to buy the next product and to make them believe they will take DSLR quality pictures. Given their track record with not keeping up with technology updates, as illustrated by their latest Iphone having features of phones from 2012, I would guess their updated to lens technology would be lagging behind even more. I can also assume that accessories bought for this new Iphone (lets say 7) would not be compatible with the next version (Iphone 8).

I want to guest blog on your Landscape / Travel photography blog, PM for details
