I shoot 90% of time at f/2 with this lens, this one is f/32

All you make it so difficult not to choose this lens..

I've been getting more into portraits. . Using the 70mm end of my 24-70 which has given me nice results , but I'm looking for something more now that I see im enjoying this..
Just trying to decide between 85 and 135 as my first "portrait lens" .

Anyways , awesome pics by everyone here

both 85 & 135 are the state of art about portraits. Longer one is focused more on headshots, but depends if u are using it more in studio or or outside.
for a smaller room when you have few meters to move, 85 could be better, otherwise without limitation you can walk near or far, being an "human zoom"

this is the big difference with using the 24-70.. you can find on this forum people shooting portraits with 20 or 200mm lenses.. up to you

one photo-trick, you can try using once your zoom stuck at 70 with tape, and u see if fits (less or more) to ur style.
if it's ok, go with the 85. if u find it short, 135 is the answer
