I noticed it today shooting that sometimes the background gets really nice and soft like #2, and others its more like #1 with bokeh that has a spirally quality to it...trying to figure out what makes one and the other...I realize that shooting closer to the subject with the background further behind aids in nuking the background...but these two look like similar distance to subject and background...
