What are you guys take on micro adjustments on the faster lenses,just for the sake of optimal performance and peace of mind?

I've always been of an 'if I'm happy with the results,then leave it alone' way of thinking. But do any of you think it's best to check wider aperture primes,just to be sure?

Absolutely.
You may be getting very good results that you are happy with, but still missing the excellence that a lens is capable of.
No way to be sure without trying.

If its not getting a reasonable amount in focus all the time I adjust otherwise I leave them alone

Thanks very much both of you for the replies.

Even though I've always been very happy with the results my 135 and 85L have produced. I've always wondered if I should take the plunge and see just 'how close' they are to optimal performance.

Think that will have to be a project one nice day

you won't see any better pictures produced with any newer camera or lens - 5D2 & a 135L with beautiful light and a photog that knows what they are doing - bravo

A wideopen panorama shot with the 135 at the local train station in Gothenburg.

Two horseracing photos photos shot with the 135 at Gothenburg Horse Show. A big international horse competition. Anyways this lens on the 5D3 had the perfect focal length for this type of sports. I rarely shot with the 300/2,8 and never with the 70-200.

This lens is amazing!
