Cuteness overload...that levitation shot above the water puddle is incredible. She wasn't playing what's the name, walking on water, was she :) :p

Do you always shoot wide open with this lens? My copy is not even close to being as sharp as yours at F2. I did micro adjust with Focal, but only from maybe 10 feet. Maybe I should redo it..its been awhile. Great set.

Yes, I always shoot wide open. I do add some sharpness in post processing.

Thanks, haha no... I actually turned on AI Servo and was shooting continuous while she jumped

Dont do micro adjustment. The advantage of Canon L lenses is - you can get the lens calibrated with the Canon body on nominal charges (free during warranty). Just calibrate it once and get sharp shot wide open at all distances.

Warranty, there is none in my case...so I would have to send in, pay, and wait. Doesnt seem very practical.

nicely done

what lens and aperture? 50L at F3.5?

Hockey and wedding photographer. Favourite camera / lens combos: a 1DX II with a Tamron 45 1.8 VC, an A7Rii with a Canon 24-70F2.8L II, and a 5DSR with a Tamron 85 1.8 VC. Every lens I own I strongly recommend [Canon (35Lii, 100L Macro, 24-70F2.8ii, 70-200F2.8ii, 100-400Lii), Tamron (45 1.8, 85 1.8), Sigma 24-105]. If there are better lenses out there let me know because I haven't found them.

These are some wonderful photos, especially the last one with the splashes from the puddle.

I bought this lens recently and I am trying to get to grips with it. Could I ask whether you were using some off camera flash (or even on camera) for these photos. The lighting looks natural but I see the way the light seems to pick out the subject's hair especially and the bubbles of water which have such clarity I wonder what the lighting set up was. And in the first photo the eyes and hair are captured perfectly and it looks so natural but you have avoided any shadows on the face - so again I am left wonder gin if this was some good soft light/open shade you found or did you use some lighting?

Thanks.
