I like the edit ... and am a bit puzzled by some of the comments.

I'm not sure how the hands are supposed to "match" the face? Both hands are at completely different angles to the light source than the face.

I mistook her amount of makeup for post processing. It's clear that it's not as smooth as the skin on her face. Also, they're two different colors, irrelevant of their level of exposure. One is clearly tanner than the other.

really like this

Hockey and wedding photographer. Favourite camera / lens combos: a 1DX II with a Tamron 45 1.8 VC, an A7Rii with a Canon 24-70F2.8L II, and a 5DSR with a Tamron 85 1.8 VC. Every lens I own I strongly recommend [Canon (35Lii, 100L Macro, 24-70F2.8ii, 70-200F2.8ii, 100-400Lii), Tamron (45 1.8, 85 1.8), Sigma 24-105]. If there are better lenses out there let me know because I haven't found them.

Now seeing the original image, it's clear it's the amount/application of makeup that is giving that smoothness/no pores(vs the texture of the hands) on her face and not post editing.

Cool idea for a summer shoot!

I think the look of one being "tanner" than the other is due to exposure levels from the natural light source. Looking at the hands and face again, there are numerous tones (colors) - many of which match the tones of the face. Regardless, it's another great image from Daniel and I hope the discussion in no way takes away from that.

You know, I don't really see that difference in colour in the original RAW file. I agree that the subject's facial complexion is super smooth ... but that isn't due to heavy processing.

I just can't see 'the issue' that some seem to have with this image.

I really don't take anything personally, I've been around for quite some time but I often learn from comments on my photos. I just couldn't agree with this one, as I know I didn't process her skin much. Here's another shot with heavier crop

The second composition is stronger IMO... but I tend to favor aggressive cropping so my opinion is biased :)
The subject of the photo is the woman enjoying her coffee/tea/cocoa. You don’t need to include as much background as the first composition in order to convince the viewer that it is a snowy day; There are more than enough contextual clues to suffice.

And blue-ing up the background works for my tastes.

Well done :)
