Hello 135 owners. I posted this question in another thread but thought you all may be able to help me. I'm looking at a used 135 locally that the guy has had sitting for about 5 years. I looked at it today and found the focusing fast when going from around mfd to infinity but slow th other way around. Also when the subject is close, focus is slow and hunts a bit. This was tested on my 6D. Otherwise th lens looks in good condition. Body 8+ and the glass 9. What do you think? A bit slow from sitting so long? It's about 18 years old but the price is right.

Should I?

Mine is doing the same but from mfd to infinity it is slow it's alright from infinity back. Gone into cps for a service. It's only 6 months old too. I'm interested to hear what Canon say about this.

Edit: I will post here what is said

Thanks for that. My local repair place is $35 to look at it which isn't too bad. Just worried at what the final cost will be!

If the price is right on buying it + service you will have a nice & new feeling lens. I know CPS offer a fixed price service no matter what is wrong, I've had two 50mm's done that way and it's very reasonable too. But you have to have a load of Canon gear to be granted entry into CPS. I dropped mine off on Monday so expecting a call tomorrow on it. Good luck if you buy it a good one really is nice to use.

Sick. Love the makeup/colors/light. Can't ask for much better than that!

Hey Joey, on this shot there appears to be something way OOF in the foreground. It adds a very nice touch to an already great image. Did you plan that or was it just by chance?
