I'm pretty new to food photography and just started working with off camera flash last week. Here's what I came up with:

Vegan Buffalo Sliders (Jackfruit, Franks Red Hot buffalo sauce mixed with vegan bleu cheese, slow cooked, amazing)

I have both. 135 is super fast. 85 is super slow :-)

85mm 1.2 is not a good choice to photograph kids. I would rather use 135mm outdoors and 35mm indoors.

85mm 1.2 is a lens to use in a controlled environment, IMO.

the 85/1.8 is much faster. might be the fastest focusing lens cannon makes. its a pretty stellar lens as far as image quality goes too.

Beat me to it Mike. I have the 85 1.8 and it is by far my fastest focusing Canon lens. I have the Siggy 30mm 1.4 non art and it gives my 85 1.8 a run for its money on the focusing speed. But definitely different tools for different reasons.
