Thanks for reminding me about the wide open CA on the 85. I guess I was more focused on the AF speed required.

If the 135L is anywhere near as fast as the 85, it'll be ideal for me.

The 135L focuses at least as fast as my 100 f2 did, which by most accounts is the 85 1.8's fraternal twin.

The colors and bokeh on the 135L is worth every penny of my upgrade. You can find them around $750 on the buy/sell forum a few times per month, and refurbs from Canon dip that low a few times per year.

Awesome use of background light for your bokeh and thanks for sharing your setup. Nice work!

Nice photo, and thanks for showing us the background shot.

I'm presuming that you used the tripod because you were shooting at 1/100, and wanted to eliminate motion blur through too slow a shutter. Just as a matter of interest, you probably didn't need the tripod. Given that the subject is almost wholly lit by the speedlight, the subject exposure would be governed by the flash time, which is much faster than necessary to freeze any motion. In other words, the shutter speed was largely irelevant (so long as it is slower than the sync speed).

Cheers, Damien
