Hockey and wedding photographer. Favourite camera / lens combos: a 1DX II with a Tamron 45 1.8 VC, an A7Rii with a Canon 24-70F2.8L II, and a 5DSR with a Tamron 85 1.8 VC. Every lens I own I strongly recommend [Canon (35Lii, 100L Macro, 24-70F2.8ii, 70-200F2.8ii, 100-400Lii), Tamron (45 1.8, 85 1.8), Sigma 24-105]. If there are better lenses out there let me know because I haven't found them.

Pictures of Points wrote in post #17743473 Really cute family Thank you guys wallstreetoneil wrote in post #17743502 Interesting you are choosing 1/800th SS - is that the SS that you felt comfortable at given the distance to the subjects and the amount of movement? 1/400 would have gotten you to ISO 400 which for sure has better colours. Really fantastic images. Haha, that was actually a faux pas and was unintentional. 1/400 is actually my preferable SS especially when shooting my moving toddler though I can go as low as 1/200 and still feel comfortable. We were running on a schedule yesterday and rain was in the forecast so we had a limited opportunity to try and take some family photos. It was also rather chilly and my tot wasn't dressed very warm so we kinda rushed not only because rain was coming but also because I don't think she would have been cooperative for long. I took some test shots in a darker area before the shoot where ISO neede to be at 800 to have a 1/400 SS but when we got to the location I just adjusted ISO to balance the meter and forgot to touch ISO. >< SereneSpeed wrote in post #17743613 PExpo, care to share the lighting setup.
