With my daughter i think I make the mistake of just trying to get by with relatively poor light inside and a shutter of 1/125 which I think is sometimes a bit slow. I miss focus occasionally especially with a moving little girl. I try to place a point of focus on the eye and back button focus, I prefer my minimum shutter speed at 1/320, one shot, I use natural light but am not afraid to bump ISO if I have to. I also add some unsharp mask in PP but that still just only helps boost an already sharp image Husband & Wife Team / Tony & Karissa / flickr

I need to quicken my shutter though I think, plus somehow find more time to get out into some nice light. UK weather has been warm for winter but rain and generally naff! That with work and short daylight hours it's frustrating not having the time or light. All being well ill have some time over Xmas Jon
