CF cards are definitely much faster than SD. The CF BUS in the 5D3 allows for a much faster transfer rate than the SD BUS...

Again thanks for everyone that commented on this. I ran a quick test. I am getting roughly 16MB/sec writing onto the 1000 xSD card versus 88MB/sec for the 1066x CF card. I'll be sticking with CF cards on the 5D3 for sure. Now to test this on the 7D2 (which is coming in shortly).

Cheers.

I'm in Canada. Isn't that weird!

A good plan Abho, I too reserve another camera body for action and when needing the longest reach possible with the lenses I happen to have ... in my case its a 1D4. The 5D3 handles everything else very very well ...

Another one - from tonight. This weather can't hold for much longer! This was out of the office window while I was on the phone to a client. I don't think they suspected anything!

There no justice in this world whatsoever! How could one have a killer view like this from the office and I don't even want to look outside around me :p
Annie, gorgeous again!

Shot my son's watch and had a hard time getting it really sharp in focus. Mirror lock up and tripod didn't help much. Puzzled

Did you turn off IS on the lens? Perhaps the second-hand ticking away causes vibration to the watch?

Why 10-s shutter?
