I always try to shot on a distance for minimal cropping. In this case I was about 4-4.5m away from the bird, in a hide, which is set up in the river. I like to work on closer distances, so that's the reason to shot FF+400mm. IMAGE LINK: https://imageshack.com/i/po5KyOdSj http://500px.com/mkkaczy

(However, long it was, it was worth it!)

First photo taken by my wife. Terrible light in the livingroom. Impressed with ISO! This is the face of a happy new owner. Congrats and welcome. It is a ripper of a camera. Jon

(However, long it was, it was worth it!) Thank you Annie. I waited around 3 years. In previous years I had the kingfishers only few times, but always without fish. This one I was lucky to take thousands of pictures of them with different kind of fish. But I spent around 3 months being there almost every day. Some days were great and some very quiet. And a video I made if the weather was not good enough for pictures. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kyslnQ9uxz8 http://500px.com/mkkaczy

I wish I had 1% of your patience and your skill.
