I have the 16-35 F4 L IS and is it amazingly sharp edge to edge........amazing lens.

I switched from the 17-40 L as well as the edge softness really showed up in my pics I take for work projects. 16-35 version fixed it.

Thanks for pointing me to the sample thread for the 16-35. I'm convinced. Will be picking mine up tomorrow from the local camera shop (they have them in stock). I'll be lucky if the give me $200 for the 17-40. I am also going to try this lens on my 80D. Perhaps, I'll be happy with the results.
