Hi 5D3 users, I have a quick question.
Did you experience on your 5D that when the camera is in stand by and you pick it up and turn the dials those do not have an impact? But first you have to push the shutter half-way to wake up the 5D and then buttons start to work?
Recently I am experiencing this and honestly cannot remember how it worked before, so not sure whether my camera is failing or is this by design.

That is by design until you wake it up.

All three of the cameras I have had work like that. Maybe wrong but I think that is the norm.

Thank you all for your feedback, for some reason I realized this behaviour only after a year of usage. :-) It is then definitely by design and this does not suit my style, but I will train myself to wake up the system first.

Just started to edit the photos of a 3 day EPIC VW show. The Great Canadian VW show is the largest VW show in Canada.

I actually used a combo of a Canon 5dmk3 with Tamron 15-30VC (left my 16-35 f/2.8mk2 at home) and all of my Fuji gear.

I'll have to say for the price the Tamron was absolutely incredible. No issues with AF when direct sun is entering the lens!!! The Tammy Bokeh was really nice and I prefer the optics over my previous 16-35 f/4IS ( more due to 1 stop of extra light on tammy).

Hate to admit but the VC on the boat anchor Tammy lens made difference in some situations over my 16-35mm.

We jammed 18 people in that poor VW !!! LOL!!!

I just got this camera. So far I love it. I haven't done much shooting with it yet . I am going to shoot at a local club tonight. I have been shooting with a t5i and I would imagine this will be a nice upgrade.
