Anhinga A bird of southern swamps, the Anhinga is known as the Water-Turkey for its swimming habits and broad tail, and also as the Snake-Bird for its habit of swimming with just its long head and neck sticking out of the water. If you ask me the Australian Darter & Anhinga sound like they are one and the same, despite continents apart.

Having been used to seeing cormorants surface with a fish between their beak, I was amazed when I saw one of these who had actually speared the fish with it's beak. It was rather fun seeing him trying to pull it off with his feet but as is usually the case, on that occasion I didn't have a camera with me.

This would look fantastic as a black and white too. Great eye and photograph! Agree with the other member about cloning some of the debris out.

I seen your garage pictures, so I know you know your fish ![]() Actually, I would like to raise awareness of Tilapia they have been known to survive down to 6 degrees and also tolerate full blown salt water. In Oz, you're not allowed to remove them from where they are caught for fear of spreading the eggs so you have to kill them in situ. Unfotunately, the eggs can survive in the mouth of the deceased parent and hatch in the spring floods. They are as menacing (reproductive wise) as are rats and mice, in fact more so See my fishy photography here: https://kevindickinsonfineartphot.smugmug.com/Tropical-Fish-2/
