You might need to be more specific...but I suspect you are referring to the somewhat "crushed" blacks? If so, it's the RGB Curve, either in ToneCurve in lightroom or Curve in Photoshop. The lower left corner, or shadow point, drag it up and right along the curve....or put a pivot point about 1/4 the way up the curve, and drag the lower left point straight up. Yep. Very similar to the shot quoted, except I usually will bring the right side back even with the original line as well, but it varies from shot to shot. Gear: 5D3, 135L, Sigma 35, 50 1.8 STM, 16-35 F/4L IS, 85/1.8, Fujifilm X100T
