I have been trying to change my avatar, and I can't find any way to reduce an image to the ridiculous size that the site apparently requires. I have no idea how I managed it when I first joined, because neither LR nor PSE will allow me to shrink a photo down that small. 80 pixels for longest side is easy, but the 8k (?) size is just crazy. LR just says it can't make it that small, and in PSE, when I set it at 80 pixels and lowest resolution it still comes out as a 35k jpeg, and unacceptably pixelated. I've tried several images and all have the same issue.

Any help? Like maybe allowing a reasonable size for the avatar? No other forum I've ever been on has put such a small limit on avatar size.

It's been a while, but I think I last used a PNG file format.

I use IrfanView (external link)and it works great to size down correctly. Amass may do the resizing on the fly but we should know soon...

I've never had any problem getting down to 8K. My avatar is 3.6K.

Rick, if you post the desired image in a larger size here I'll be glad to give it a shot for you. I don't use either LR or PSE, normally use Paint Shop Pro or PS CS4.

Just wait a little bit until AMASS goes live and this problem goes away. :)
