I actually want to buy my wife an SL1 because she finds the 40D I gave her too big and bulky.

BigValueInc. on eBay, is that gray market? Price seems too good to include a US warranty.

Last year it was $369. :(

And can we still the pointless arguments on who should get this, the sl1 is used by anyone and we all know it, including those trying to pick a fight.

Hey maybe it's because women generally have smaller hands so it would fit them well, which is why he said wife? You ever hear someone refer to having "man hands?" or I have tiny "girl hands" (I actually do have small girl hands, that's why I got an SL1...lol).... Chill out and stop being so sensitive. Not everything has to be sexist or politically correct. You don't have to sit and pick out HOW he worded the question, unless you know him personally and know he is a sexist pig?

I have an SL1... If i think like you then I suppose I should be mad because he is suggesting that it is a girly camera and I'm a man? But then if i was insulted by that then it implies that I think women are inferior and it would be insulting to be compared to one. We can "interpret" all day.

But, I don't pick apart everyone's posts when I KNOW what they meant to begin with.

To the OP: Not a bad deal (they have better ones though). If you were going to get your wife any camera bc of it's smaller size, I would go with the EOS-M, MY wife loves it's SIZE and easy mode with facial recognition. If you/she prefers a more compact rebel with a view finder, then the SL1 is the way to go. I'd wait for a better deal though.
